HeadRoom
HeadRoom
Providing career and wellbeing support for professionals across the audio industry.
HeadRoom is a coaching and mentoring service built specifically for the audio industry.
Whether you're looking for one-to-one career coaching, a trusted mentor, or simply a space to think through the challenges of life in the industry - this is where that conversation happens.
Who Am I?
My name is Brendon Harding. Over the past twenty years I've been an assistant, a recording engineer, a mixing engineer, and a producer. I've run studios, managed engineers, worked for brands, and seen this industry from just about every angle there is.
I've made records with Lee "Scratch" Perry, Little Simz, Jessie Ware, Disclosure and more; I've worked for Red Bull, Strongroom Studios and Spitfire Audio; and run sessions in some of the finest rooms in the UK.
But more than the credits - I know what it feels like to have artists and labels breathing down your neck, demanding you work faster and better than is humanly possible. I know the quiet dread of submitting a mix for approval, and that stomach-drop moment when the revisions land in your inbox. I know what it costs to get an album over the line while keeping the rest of your life from falling apart.
That's why I created HeadRoom.
What Do I Provide?
Consistent, one-to-one support through a blend of coaching, mentoring and management advice - tailored entirely to you.
I'm the sounding board that helps you find solutions when everything feels stuck. The sense-check that keeps your decisions aligned with where you actually want to go. The straight-talking, unbiased ear for the frustrations you can't always voice to clients, collaborators or colleagues.
No agenda. No judgement. Just someone genuinely in your corner.
Who Is This For?
If you work in audio, this is for you. Engineers, producers, studio managers, composers, technicians, product designers - whatever your role, if you operate in the wider world of sound, you're welcome here.
This industry is vast and the challenges are rarely one-size-fits-all. Having worked across various genres, sectors and roles, I'm well placed to meet you wherever you are.
How Does It Work?
We speak for an hour, twice a month, via phone, video call, or in person if geography allows. We check in on where you're at: your career, your headspace, the challenges you're navigating now and the ones you can see coming.
In the first two sessions we'll get to know each other and start mapping out your goals - the bigger picture that helps shape everything else. After that, each call is led entirely by you. No prescribed course content, no pre-planned topics that don't fit your life. We go where you need to go: celebrating wins, untangling problems, building momentum, or just clearing the air.
It’s dynamic, fluid, and always on your terms.
What’s The Group Call?
Once a month, everyone in the HeadRoom community comes together on a group call. It's a chance to surface from the isolation that freelance and studio life can breed - to share wins, talk through losses, and connect with a group of people who genuinely get it.
Music is the common language, but the floor is open. Think of it less like a webinar and more like the kind of honest conversation that rarely happens anywhere else in this industry.
What’s The Cost?
The first call is completely free - let’s talk and see if I’m right for what you need. After that calls are £150 each, with a minimum of two and a maximum of four per month. Additional sessions can be arranged on an ad-hoc basis for specific topics, opportunities or moments that just can't wait - or they can be scheduled regularly if you feel you'd benefit from more frequent support.
There’s no contract and no minimum term. You'll be invoiced monthly and can step back whenever you need to.
For UK-based self-employed individuals and limited companies, HeadRoom is tax deductible as a business expense. International clients should check their local tax position.
